Rhonda Draper 2012_small1

My name is Rhonda Draper and I am the creator and writer here. I have been teaching for over two decades, have won numerous awards and after 20 years, still, love my job. Don’t get me wrong – there have been plenty of bumps in the road, but somehow I still feel inspired. I want to share with you my top ten teaching rules, the power of a mistake and why I use music, movement, dance, drama, and art to accelerate the learning process. (In other words, I teach music for music’s sake but have also discovered many ways to use its profound power as a superhighway to the memory system… but more on that later)

I am an educator, presenter, performer and materials developer specializing in integrating music and movement into the learning process.

Ask me questions about working with children by clicking the contact button. I will do my best to find an answer for you.

Sound Education is a dream for me – a chance to share what I have learned along the way with the hope that you will find what you need when you need it. The Sound Education Newsletter will feature tips for teaching, ideas for managing groups of children and tricks of the trade that I have used to keep going when I haven’t felt ‘up to the task’.

Educational Materials

Rhonda has produced more than 20 CD, all with lesson aids. Not all the CD’s are on the website yet, but if you sign up for her newsletter you will receive notice each time one more becomes ready. The CD’s are great for making practice a little more fun- music and math, music and writing, Basic Knowledge for Children and more.

Speaking Engagements

Rhonda has been both a keynote and plenary speaker at local, provincial and national level events. Her messages are simple, funny, practical and encouraging. Click the Speaking tab to learn more.
